All you need is love and … this week’s Five fabulous finds.
Just a list of ‘five fabulous finds’ I found on the interweb this week.
1 Orokonui Eco-Sanctuary
This venue is not new, and definitely not new to me, in fact it’s right on my doorstep and my family and I love spending time here, wandering around the tracks. The Orokonui Eco-Sanctuary is (in my opinion) one of Dunedin’s most beautiful buildings, it stands majestically above Blueskin Bay and offers spectacular views from the function center. The Eco-Sanctuary is available as a venue for weddings, with all the facilities you would expect from any venue, and being only 15 mins from Dunedin, it would be fairly easy to provide a bus for your guests. 2 Debra Fallowfield
I am in love with almost all of Debra’s jewellery. I’ve been a fan (stalking madly on social media) and am saving and dreaming of which piece I will buy. If you’re after bespoke engagement and/or wedding rings then this is the place, and she’s a local Dunedinite, with a must see store: Precious, in Port Chalmers.
“I make handmade precious contemporary jewellery – from conception to completion, completely from hand. Stunning, urban, organic gold and silver. Chunky rings, engagement rings, wedding rings. Powerful talismans for a modern age.”

4 Lord of the Rings Fan?
I found this example of a ring exchange that would satisfy the biggest Lord of the Rings Fan.
“With this one ring I thee wed, with this one ring, I give you my love and devotion, with this ring that binds us together as long as we both shall live”
5 Signature Wedding Cocktails
Want to add a level of fun and sophiscation to your wedding reception? Why not think about serving your guests a signature wedding cocktail. You could choose one or have a bride’s drink and a groom’s drink, and come up with fun names for them. Here’s a few things to consider when choosing your signature wedding cocktail.
- Use fresh ingredients – think seasonal fruit, squeezed juices and home-made syrups
- Consider the colour of the drink – do you want it to complement your colour scheme.
- Think about the complexity of the drink vs speed of it being served.
- If in doubt, consult the experts, talk to a mixologist or bartender for recommendations.
- Make a decision on how long the drink will be served – is it going to be an all night drink or just for the drinkies straight after the ceremony.
